I drank Smoothies for 21 Days… here’s what happened to my body
After 63 days of going to the gym regularly, I checked my weight.
“176 pounds”, the weighing scale shouted.
My face turned pale in disappointment.
After returning home, I looked my face in the mirror.
I mean it was hard, quite hard for me to do eye contact with myself.
I was embarrassed and of course, very disappointed with my results.
“What could go wrong?” to “What’s wrong with me?”, the questions increased the degree of negativity in my mind. I wasn’t feeling like doing anything.
I went to the gym 5 days a week. I ate “clean” (or so I thought) and I followed my YouTube heroes. Yet somehow, I felt bloated, sluggish and frustrated.
No abs. No Crazy Transformation as i saw on the internet. Just…stuck.
Even I started questioning myself whether I should continue going to the gym or not.
Then one random Sunday evening, while scrolling through some reels on Instagram I had no intention of doing, I came across a 21-day smoothie plan promising fat loss, detox, and energy boosts.
Although I was sure nothing was going to happen with me, I don’t know how my fingers touched that link.
I literally rolled my eyes but then my mind became instantly curious.
What if I committed to drinking smoothies every day for 21 days straight and just gave my body something fresh?
So..let’s do the challenge.
Week 1: The Cravings, The Headaches, and The Detox Shock
I started with little to no hope but still gave it a shot. I read the guide and started creating some receipes as guided.
3 days passed..and let me be honest with you the first three days were brutal (to my mind, to my body, to everything).
It was feeling like a self torture.
I had to swap my usual breakfast and lunch for green smoothies and it was a mix of spinach, banana, frozen berries, almond milk, and a scoop of whey protein. And for dinner also, it was still a normal & balanced plate. But it was lighter than before.
By Day 4, I had a massive headache and I found myself craving for one of my favourite masala curry. The feeling was like my life was totally depended on it. That’s a crazy craving for me. My body was literally crying for masala curry.
So it was definitely not something that will make you feel amazing as soon as you start the challenge.
It will haunt you at first before becoming a habit. Everywhere you’ll notice that few pieces of your favourite food is going somewhere else.
Once you follow this routine, try to keep yourself away from sugar, caffeine, refined carbs and all those screaming for attention in your head.
This was the bad part. I felt like quitting this too but I noticed something different about myself.
By Day 5, I noticed that I wasn’t feeling bloated anymore.
My jeans felt looser and my face became less puffy. By that time, I was drinking more water and peeing more often (TMI but necessary).
This aroused some motivation inside my body.
Week 2: Energy Shift, Clearer Skin, and Unexpected Mental Focus
8th day onwards, I started liking my body little bit. When I woke up in the morning, I didn’t feel like I was dragging my body out of bed ,instead, I felt energetic after a long period of time.
9th day: I was playing football with my friends, and the suddenly I noticed that I was able to run a bit faster. I didn’t have to take rest every now and then.
On 10th day, I was shocked after looking at my skin. My face started glowing, and I confirmed this when I got a compliment from one of my co-worker “What are applying on you skin these days? Your skin looks so glowy…”
“Oh my god….I heard something like these many years back during my college days”.
I felt little bit proud of the changes but not totally satised. I wanted more confidence so that I could look at myself in the mirror proudly.
Remaining days of Week 2:
Daily nutrients, vitamins, and water was finally kicking in my body. I was giving my body what it truly needed — without thinking too much about it.
Every smoothie was quick, tasty, and felt good going in. I followed a structured 21-day plan I found through AlwaysLiveFit — and, to be honest, it was a lifesaver. It made sure that I wasn’t falling into the “just drink fruit juice” trap.
Lesson for you: Not all smoothies are healthy. If you take a bunch of fruit with sugar, it can spike your insulin. You have to balance it for your body (think of fiber, greens, good fat, protein.)
Week 3: Visible Results, Emotional Clarity, and Real Change
By now, I had become a smoothie fanboy.
I lost 6.2 pounds, which was insane to me because I hadn’t cut calories so fast before. I felt like I had simply changed what I put into my body.
But it was not just about the weight that made me proud :
Here’s what really changed:
- My mood became stable.
I wasn’t becoming exhausted during my work. And no emotional rollercoasters.
- My digestion was smooth.
My gut health improved because of proper digestion. My peeing and pooping became consistent and I wasn’t facing any discomfort.
- I felt lighter.
This is one the major difference I saw in my feeling. I weighed a lot lesser, and that feeling just blowed my mind. Like a heavy stone was just removed from my belly. Not just in the physical level, but also I could notice the difference in mind. I just felt so relaxed.
There’s something powerful about sticking to something for 21 days. It gave me confidence. Like, “Wow. I actually did this.”
On Day 19, I had a slip — a friend’s birthday meant cake and pizza. That day I felt bloated within 2 hours. That reaction was leterally proof that my body had changed, and it knew what was good for it.
What I Learned from 21 Days of Smoothies
If you’ve been working hard, eating clean-ish, and still not seeing results, here’s a lesson for you:
It’s not about eating less. It’s about eating right. It all depends on the calorie intake.
I didn’t starve and I didn’t do two-a-days at the gym.
I just gave my body nutrient-dense food that are easy-to-digest.
So by then I had completely reset my physical system.
Till now smoothies are part of my daily routine. I don’t do two meals a day anymore, but even replacing one meal with a smoothie makes a difference.
Who Is This For?
- You’ve been on your fitness journey for months, but nothing seems to work
- You’re starting out and want something simple that doesn’t overwhelm
- You’ve got results, but want to go deeper — maybe tone up, feel cleaner, or boost your energy
- Or you’re just tired of feeling blah
If you relate to any of the points above, you can give this 21-day plan a shot.
I followed this exact step-by-step plan and it really changed my habits, my body, and my mind.

Will I Do It Again?
Absolutely.
I won’t do this because of the trend and hashtags on instagram.
I’ll do it again because this challenge is the reason that made me feel human again. I became more energized, more productive, and better control of my life.
If you’re sitting there feeling like you’ve tried everything and nothing’s working — I can definitely see you, my friend.
From my experience, sometimes, all it takes is a simple & structured reset that can make your body and brain aligned again.
And if you’re ready for that reset, give the 21-Day Smoothie Plan a try. It might just be the best decision you make for your body this year.
